I'm a software engineer with an unlikely background - my undergraduate degree is from UC Berkeley in molecular biology. I gained a familiarity with computer science concepts in college, and the discovery of my love for programming inspired me to enroll in App Academy, an immersive software development bootcamp with a < 5% acceptance rate. There, I became well versed in Ruby (on Rails), SQL, Javascript, Backbone.js, and much more, in addition to learning the advantages of pair programming and test driven development.

I'm passionate about creating software that connects people in meaningful ways and helps them learn new things. I myself, am excited to learn new things - specifically, new technologies and new ways to solve problems.

In my spare time I like to build things, make art, read, write, climb trees, try to make people laugh (usually unsuccessfully), and explore new places and ideas. I would love to build things that advance education, science, or the arts, but am open to all types of projects!
